Marriage Advice
A group of our friends went out last night to celebrate the last weekends of singleness in their lives before getting married. The soon-to-be groom asked the married men for advice. The consensus was, "Invest in a good couch."

It has been majorly scorching lately. 113 degrees outside is not so fun. Although...I must admit, jumping from one air conditioned spot to another is not really suffering.
My cousins are here visiting for the weekend.
I have been pretty busy lately with work, taking care of Toby, and life in general and haven't spent as much time playing on the web as usual.I walked up to the bus stop this morning and one of the guys already at the stop asked me what year I graduated from UC Davis. Turns out he only graduated a year before me. I mentioned how we were probably in a few of the same classes since he was a Computer Science major. He was completely shocked (a little too shocked?) when I said that I was a Computer Engineering major.
)? Or is it because I'm a girl? Hmmm.....
As we were talking about how someone would describe me for a profile, I mentioned how I liked corny jokes. Bertrand, who prides himself in his corny (not always so funny) jokes disagreed.Another day in the life of kimmy'isms. A conversation about working out and going to the gym.

I have been making a lot of little trips lately and it never ceases to fail that every single time I make one of these little trips, I happen to forget something. Usually the things I forget are pretty little and I can manage without them. We made a trip to Southern California this weekend. For this trip, I was determined not to forget anything. I spent an extra amount of time while packing and put a lot of thought and effort into remembering the little things. I remembered the little "in case" things and was so proud of myself. I went through the imaginary checklist in my head and was excited.
Over the next 6 weeks I will be going to four concerts.Yesterday while watching the World Cup, I realized that at that very moment millions of people around the world were watching the very same thing at the very same time. How cool is that?
I went to a wedding today and at our table, there were people from Google, BEA, Microsoft, Apple and two startup companies. Someone forgot to invite Yahoo.
I love the fair. I used to go to the county fair every year when I was growing up and then stopped going for several years. Then a few years ago, decided that I wanted to go again. When I was younger, all I really remember about going to the fair was a lot of walking, eating funnel cakes, dying to go on the rides and win a prize from one of the game booths. Now, going to the fair is more about just enjoying the atmosphere and eating good food. We went the other night to enjoy a free concert, walk around and people-watch, eat some food that is very bad for us but oh-so-very-good, and roam the various little booths of random inventions and homemade items. Where else can you go and come home with a funnel cake, super soaking sponges, and little masking tape application helper?
